The first trade.
Maya was four cards away from completing a junk-wax set she started with her dad. Oil Can Boyd was one of the four.
In exchange, she offered an older common from a smaller set. It is not rare or especially important, but it is a real step up from the starting card.
Why Maya made the trade
“Your card finishes a page. Mine has been sitting in a duplicate box for years.”
The trade was completed by mail and both cards arrived safely.
Result: one completed set for Maya, and one slightly better card for the project.
