The first graded card.
Nora had been looking for this specific autograph in a clean copy. The player grew up near her hometown, so it had more value to her than the market estimate suggested.
She offered a graded vintage card from the 1960s. The grade is modest and the card shows its age, but it is a recognizable step forward.
It is also the first card in the chain with a plausible value over one hundred dollars.
Where the project stands
- The original card was approximately twenty-five cents.
- The current card is approximately one hundred ten dollars.
- No cash or outside inventory has entered the chain.
- The one-for-one chain is still intact.
